Some Of You Gun People…

…Made Me Have One More Rant!

I’ve been reading some of the gun boards and gun blogs and there seems to be a bit of a disconnect with some of my brethren and sisteren out there.  Many of you feel this is no big deal.  It’s just passing another law and it will all be ok because can’t do anything right.  And it’s no big deal because it’s the Dems and they will get voted out of office and that’s a good thing for gun owner rights.

Let me sum this up one more time for the kids in the back of the class who may have been sleeping.

Your Federal Government just passed an unconstitutional law using unconstitutional means against the will of the American People.

This law happens to have in mind bankrupting insurance companies and bringing about an inevitable single payer system (Nationalized Healthcare).   This law will give the Federal Government unconstitutional control over your choice of healthcare and eventually over every aspect of your life.

But it wouldn’t matter if the law did give me a $2500 break on premiums and insure everyone from cradle to grave (neither of which it does.  Both complete lies told by Obama).

It wouldn’t matter if this bill made candy canes rain from the sky and mandate that I get lucky every night by a Victoria’s Secret model.

When the government abandons all pretense of even trying to lie to us and just rams something down our throats knowing we can’t do a damn thing about it save marching on DC and having public executions of anyone who holds office, that is a very bad thing.

And how do you even draw a stupid conclusion that this is somehow good for gun owner rights????? When one part of The Constitution is pissed on, the whole thing is pissed on.  Isn’t that what we in the gun community have been saying for decades?  But somehow it’s ok when it’s not guns that are getting shat upon.

And let me add one more little morsel of disquietude to this whole happy circus.  Since repealing this is well-nigh impossible, the government, knowing that riots and revolts are in the cards 10 to 15 years down the road when this can’t be paid for, will HAVE to, as a matter of self preservation, remove your rights to not only have guns but to protest about it. Your guns are not safe just because there may be (still doubtful given that illegals will be given the vote soon) a Dem blood bath in November.

Unless there is a very large miracle, we just got handed a script for how this country will end its last 20 or so years of existence.  The rule of law is over.  Congress and the President just told us they can do ANYTHING they want and are immune to us.  The stitching has been pulled out of the hem and the garment will unravel faster than a cheap Chicom Wal-mart T-shirt.

Obama, “It’s Not About You People. It’s About ME!”

As I type, Obama is lying about healthcare.  Why?  Because you don’t want it, but he must have it.  And what you, the people, want doesn’t matter one damn bit.  They will (temporarily) torch their party and (permanently) destroy the whole country just to get this passed so they can spend more of your money and take over more of your life.

I’m just about fed up.  I’m beginning to think until a fudge ton of folks show up in DC with blood on their minds, this isn’t going to stop.  I have no desire to get into a fight.  But having “no desire” is not the same as “no means.”  And I’m one of the most easygoing guys you will meet.  Imagine what more highly strung, younger, passionate people will think.

I’m warning you people in DC, this is a BAD IDEA.  If you have no political survival instinct left, it might be a good idea to default to plain old survival instincts.  You can’t keep pushing and pushing.  You are on the verge of some very nasty.  I’m begging you to STOP.

You Have To Take The Good With The Bad, Eric!

Google and China are squaring off against each other because of censorship.  So, Eric, a heavily centralized .gov is a good thing?  Or do you just want an uber-powerful Big Brother in some areas but not in others?  Is it your belief that a massive over arching central dictatorship can be good as long as it knows its place?  Meaning not to mess with you, but if it breaks a few eggs (and heads and souls) elsewhere that’s fine.  Eric… Big Government is never content to just control over its people.  It will control EVERYTHING.  Learn it well, Eric.

I hope this is an eye opener for you guys over in Googleville.  I doubt it.

Chrome OS. I’m Not So Sure I Care?

Ok.  I’ve seen a bunch today on the Google’s Chrome OS.  Here’s one example.

1st off… Google can…  Oh yeah.  Have to keep this PG-13.  Um… Google could slide off the face of the Earth and I wouldn’t care.  Don’t put out fancy dancey techno products and then complain about the system of commerce and government that allows people the ready cash to buy them.

Google won’t see one thin DIME of my $$ for anything.  I use T-mobile.  I like T-mobile.  I even like the Android OS.  But I WILL NOT buy a phone sponsored by Google.  So unless T-Mobile gets a 3G Blackberry, I’m not giving up my sad phone.  If it does finally break; an i-Phone may be in my future and the comely, weirdly accented, Catherine Zeta-Jones will have to excuse me while I move to AT&T.

As to the Chrome OS.  I will say the same thing I said about Larry Ellison’s plans to rope everything into one big cloud (that he would control).  People really don’t like Digital Socialism for important apps just like they don’t like the economic version for important things like health care.

It’s just fine for social networking and non mission critical apps.  But when I need to have a budget proposal in by 10AM and “the cloud” decides to consult Murphy’s schedule and not mine, I have a problem.  Business needs the ability to have locally based apps.  Period.  Even local intranets can’t replace having an office suite right here on my desktop.  And that’s just the everyday apps.  Show of hands: Who wants to run a CAD program on a T1 shared by 40 people trying to Youtube?

Oh… but it’s meant for Laptops.  People with laptops WANT the speed of getting on the Internet fast.  And with broadband everywhere now… they won’t need local apps.

How do I put this nicely?  Bullcrap.  That sounds like a nice idea, but in the reality of most people’s lives, Broadband IS NOT everywhere and when it isn’t… being able to hit START > %officesuite% > %neededapp% is a feature that 90% of business won’t give up.  So while you may make a dent in the causal users; the Bread and Butter of an OS, business, won’t be beating down your door.

Second bit of bullcrap.  People don’t like owning multiple OS platforms.  Only power users put up with knowing Unix and Mac and Windows (some of us even still speak DOS).  I put up with it because I have to.  It’s my job.  I hate it.  It’s just as annoying as fighting code when you have 3 or 4 different languages in your head.  “What syntax error!  That’s just fine.  Oh… yeah… SQL need single quotes for a literal!”

The average Joe(sephine) wants the same look on his/her boat anchor desktop as well as their flyweight notebook.  (S)He wants the same apps.  Same capabilities.  And when that person is a business user; double that desire.    There will be some that don’t care, but the majority will pass because they just can’t get app X for it.

So unless you can Appleize users from the ground up with phones and MP3 players, you aren’t going to do a lot of damage.  Oh… and how did Apple get people to buy Macs?  By having LOCAL APPS that enhanced the i-Phone and i-Pod experience.

Now… we consumers may be forced to cloud computing eventually.  But that doesn’t mean I have to like it.  It also doesn’t mean I have to participate.  There’ll always be plenty of free OS’s out there and plenty of free Open Source Apps for those of us who don’t like Big Brother whether he has a .com or .gov address.

Peel THIS!

Yeah yeah…  Nothing’s been funny or interesting to me for a while.  Guess you can figure out why.  Nothing is still very funny.  Not a Socialist as POTUS and a liar as VPOTUS.  Not an economy driven down by the News Media and Congress Pre-Election; who now are trying to paint a happy face on the smallest positive number to show that TheOne(tm) has re-made the world in His Image.

Nope.  Nothing.  So I’m just going to vent.  The straw that has broken this camel’s back?  The stupid “Peel Me” feature on Apps and Internet Sites.

You have the newest version of Live Messenger?  Then you’ve seen it.  Use as your search engine? You’ve seen it.  I know that it’s not new.  It was cute when Ask first put it on…  But I really hate it now.  I don’t want to Peel You.  Seriously!  I want to look for “Did they cancel Reaper,” “Chess Lyrics*,” or, “.50 BMG ricochet video.”**  Neit interested in “peeling you” for a Geico Quote!

And don’t get me started on Live Messenger.  I’m not peeling ANYTHING that M$ asks me to peel.  I’ll wind up with a 4 hour download that needs 3 visits to to get working.

There.  I feel better.  Not much… but it’s a start.  Or a restart??? Whatever.

Conservative, educated, understands history, distrusts government, distrusts politicians, dislikes pop-culture, and carries a firearm. In short, I'm what The Framers of The Constitution were counting on and everything your government wants you to fear most.

The only thing I don’t have to complain about is some GI taking up space in my living room. I’ll let you know about the Civil Courts if someone ever owes more than $20 to me. ---If you didn’t get that one; sue your Civics or US History Teacher.

dantes firing range -A T-
Remove the spaces and convert the -AT- to... you know the drill. In VB Script that's: Value = replace (replace ("dantes firing range -A T-", " ",""), "-AT-", chr(64))
